Stallone's story
Please help us welcome Stallone to NBS Animal Rescue!
This little fella came to us from our kind friends at Detroit Animal Care and Control and is ready to start looking for his fur-ever home!
Stallone is a 3 year old neutered male Chihuahua who is a skinny little guy working on putting on some weight. He came to us very skinny and since working on some digestive issues, he's now chomping down food like it's going out of style and even gained a bit of weight! He'll need to continue on a special diet of puppy food and 5 star ground beef to help supplement his weight gain for another month or so, and continue some allergy medicine daily but other than that he's ready to find his fur-ever family!
This handsome fella tolerates other dogs in the house, but he is not fond of them invading his personal space. He's not much of a fan of toys or playing, but loves to snuggle! He prefers to spend his days curled up in your lap snoozing, lounging out on his foster moms deck in the sunshine, or going for a walk through the neighborhood. He is a pretty social fella when out and about on a leash or in the house but can get a little protective of his people if you're holding him and someone new comes to visit and he most definitely is not a fan of being suddenly woken up from his slumber. He is looking for a loving home with kids over the age of 15 years of age that is calm and home often.
Stallone would do well in a home with or without a traditional fenced yard if his family was home often to take him for several short walks each day. He does his business outside if you keep him on a schedule and take him out to potty often and reward him for his good manners but will occasionally have an accident or two if you don't take him out regularly.
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if Im not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 6 hour periods.
-Children must be 15 yrs or older.
- Other dogs in home must be mellow, low energy.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to.
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If youd like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
